Proving social video content is still king

In recent years, video has become a critical part of online marketing. Facebook alone sees in excess of 8 billion video views per day (Source: Social Pilot) and with innovative ways of creating these videos such as boomerang, live video, 360 video and animated gifs, there’s a lot more movement going on in our newsfeeds.

Our client, 1st Recruitment, approached us with the task of increasing their website traffic through digital channels. Considering Oi’s previous success stories and numerous industry articles championing the effectiveness of video in social, we set out to produce an eye catching brand video showcasing the high number and calibre of jobs available through their website.

Oi produced a snappy video to run through both targeted Facebook advertising and organic content and, as expected, the results blew standard image-based advertising out of the water. The video adverts increased the number of Facebook users visiting the site by 387% in the first three weeks (compared to previous image-based advertising), of which 72% were new visitors. Proving that timely video content is still king.
