Visit Jersey appoints

12th February 2016

Visit Jersey has appointed Oi as its campaign agency.

The agency started working with Visit Jersey early in 2015 and has produced its last four advertising campaigns involving innovative digital, and national print media, activity targeting the UK, France and Germany.

As part of a comprehensive review of all its partners, Visit Jersey pitched the creative and digital campaign agency role. Oi demonstrated its expertise and capability to plan, create, develop and implement their high-profile and important campaigns.

‘It’s great to be awarded this contract and work with a very experienced, innovative and ambitious group of people,’ said Peter Grange, Oi Chief Executive.

‘Visit Jersey has an excellent strategy for a great product and we’re delighted to be creating and implementing marketing campaigns to attract more people to experience the island we love.’

Oi will be working on UK digital, print and experiential campaigns for Visit Jersey, starting with a major summer 2016 campaign launching in May when Visit Jersey also introduces its new brand.

‘We’re excited to continue our partnership with Oi, who have demonstrated great creativity and a shared ambition to make a difference to Jersey’s visitor economy,’ said Adam Caerlewy-Smith, Head of Marketing, Visit Jersey.

Jersey’s vision is of a vibrant sustainable tourism industry whose contribution to the economy and community at large is widely recognised and specifically to achieve:

• 1 million visitors per annum before 2030
• A future visitor spend of £500m per annum
• Hotel occupancy levels close to 95% in the peak season

Work is now well underway in putting this into action and laying the foundation for accessing the many social, cultural and economic benefits this will bring to the island.

An integral part of this is developing a simple, single-minded and consistently applied proposition that shows off Jersey’s most relevant and engaging features and expressing this with a new brand identity that will guide the way the island attracts visitors from across its key markets.

Oi now employs 25 marketing, creative and digital experts across Jersey, Guernsey and London. The agency is moving to larger Jersey premises in the coming months and actively recruiting for strategic, creative and digital brand new thinkers on the island.
