Meet your new buddy
Working closely with the global safety design and manufacturing company, MSA, Oi has recently completed the first phase of a fully integrated European teaser advertising campaign for the launch of a new product for firefighters, called the M1.
As part of the campaign strategy to engage firefighters, Oi travelled to key locations throughout Europe, such as France, Spain, Poland, Germany, Netherlands and the UK, to interview and film firefighters for a series of teaser videos produced for use on a microsite, designed by Oi, and across MSA's social media channels.
The videos showed genuine responses from male and female firefighters who were asked what they looked for in a buddy - a key component in the campaign messaging to raise awareness and create interest for the brand and anticipation about the new M1 product.
As well as English, the video project by Oi included translations, and versions, into French, Spanish, Polish, German, Dutch and Italian.
Multi-lingual print and digital adverts were also created to run in niche, European firefighting publications, as well as printed marketing collateral that will be distributed at key events during 2018.
The campaign includes a user-generated content competition created by Oi - the 2018 ‘Buddy Awards’ - where firefighters are in with a chance of being crowned the 'Buddy of the Year' and could win amazing prizes for their fire station by uploading their buddy stories, photos and videos to the MSA microsite for others to share socially and vote on why their buddy should win.
